Grandfather Adnan was a great sheikh who liked to meet with his grandchildren every Thursday to tell them a useful story, and the grandchildren Maysara, Hatem, Nour and Aseel were eager to hear his stories.
And as soon as the desired day came, they sat down to listen to their grandfather's story.
Grandpa Adnan said:
-Oh, my little grandchildren, listen and remember that sustenance is entrusted to God’s will, even if a thousand obstacles were between it and its owner
Aseel said: How, grandfather ?
- my child , I will tell you a story that explains what I say. In the era of the Caliph Al-Ma'mun and he was a caliph of the Muslims, there was a writer called Al-Habiri. He was a great sheikh like your grandfather Adnan, and the Court dispensed him for his old age
Hatem said: What did he do, grandfather, after he lost his job?
- O my grandchildren, he remained attached to the Minister of Al-Ma'mun, Ahmed bin Khaled's palace and would not leave his place until he met him but the minister evaded his meeting.
Nour said: Poor uncle Al- Habiri, what did he do next?
-he Continued to come every day and did not leave the minister's door until the minister became furious and ordered his doorkeeper to tell him that he does not want to see him again.
But the doorkeeper, my grandchildren, was a kind-hearted, keeping the previous affection with the old sheikh, so he took out of his pocket five thousand dirham and paid it to Al-Habiri, pretending that it was a gift from the minister until he could find work for him.
Maysara said: He did a good thing, grandfather, may God reward him, and did Al-Habiri accept the gift ?
No, son, he refused strongly, because he wanted to earn money by his work and does not want favor from anyone, so the doorkeeper admitted that the money is his own money and that he was forced to do so in order to avoid the embarrassment in informing him of the minister's true message and that he does not want to see him again
Hatem said: A difficult situation, and what did Al-Habiri do?
Al-Habiri became agitated and said to doorkeeper tell the minister that if God ordained something for me on your part, will come to me against your will, and it was as he said
-How ? said the four grandchildren, anxious to know what happened?
-I will tell you one time the minister entered the caliph's place, and he had nothing in his mind except Al-Hariri's response, that reached him through the doorkeeper and disturbed his mood.
At this moment, the caliph was looking for someone who would assume the mandate of Egypt and be honest and fair, so he asked the minister to nominate someone for him, so the minister said: I nominate to you, Moulay, Al Habiri, I mean Zubairi.
Nour said: Glory be to God, my grandfather, God has made a happy fate to Al-Habiri on His tongue.
- God bless you , Nour, excellent for the accuracy of your observation
This is what really happened, as the minister tried to catch up and correct the name, but al-Ma'mun stuck in his mind Al-Habiri and asked about his conditions and talked about his good work with his father Al-Rasheed, and the minister tried to pretend that he is not fit for the mandate to no avail until Al-Ma'mun told him: I see you have prejudice against the man, tell me the truth in his matter, so he told him what he said and Al-Ma'mun said: He was sincere and God made his livelihood on your hands in spite of you.
So the minister went out and found Al-Habiri waiting, and said to him: Your livelihood has come on my hand in spite of me, as you said, and he gave him the order of the Caliph to govern Egypt.
-Good ,grandfather .said all four together.
-Yes, my grandchildren, for the sustenance Allah brings with his wisdom to whom he wills, and we only have to continue striving and work hard until we reach it , regardless of the difficulties.
