Producer Bilal Sabry announced the start of filming for the second part of the film "Cheap Meat", 29 years after the release of the first part, which sparked widespread controversy.
The film returns to address contemporary social issues, starring a number of stars, including Wafa Maki, Bousi Shaheen, Hossam Helmy, Wael Metwally, Sheri, Mona Ezz, and Sama Abaza. The film is written by Ahmed Ashour and directed by Karim Afifi, promising a fresh and bold perspective on the challenges of the modern era.
"Cheap Meat 2" revolves around the daughters of the character played by Wafa Maki in the first part. The story introduces new dramatic developments surrounding marriage in the age of social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok.
The film explores the impact of these platforms on human relationships and marriage, and how technology has become a new threat to social connections.
The film also highlights the major changes that have taken place in Egyptian society in recent years due to technological shifts, creating a new world full of social challenges, particularly those facing younger generations.
The second part continues to address social issues similar to those explored in the first part, which tackled the issue of body trade in rural Egypt. The first part followed the lives of three girls—Ikhlas, Tawhida, and Najfa—living in a rural village, who endured harsh social conditions that led them to work in various fields. This made the film one of the most prominent works to shed light on the struggles of women during that period.
The second part promises even more excitement and suspense, offering a new world filled with social challenges imposed by modern technology, while continuing to follow the lives of its characters as they confront the realities of contemporary life.
Producer Bilal Sabry is also preparing to release his new film "Tarot Papers" soon, continuing to strengthen his presence in the film industry with works that combine boldness, excitement, and a focus on significant social issues.
