The Arab/Americans : A Saga of Failure by Dr. Yassin El-Ayouty, Esq.

The Three I 's are successful : The Irish , the Italians , the Israelis All stories of achievement and influence . Not the Arab-Americans . Here is why :

(1) Citizens of the 3 I's have integrated themselves in American society . But the Arab-Americans see in integration a loss of identity ;

(2) The non-Arab-Americans learnt how to speak English the American way ; while the Arab community feels more comfortable staying within its " falafel and gyro orbit ;

(3) Except for the Syrians and Lebanese , the Arab " Galiah " does not field its representatives in party politics . So their impact on the American political scene is minimal ;

(4) In America , political donations to either the Democrats or the Republican parties buy influence ; the Arabs in the main contribute to mosques or personalized salons ;

(5) To my knowledge , there are only two Arab families that are on the national scene : Sununu , and Shaheen . Both hail from Syria and Lebanon ; both inhabit the north east ;

(6) There is American fatigue from the Palestinian question , which has now lost its grip ;

(7) Attacking America in 9-11 has made Islam itself a suspect concept ;

(8) The only quarantine on a regional group has been on citizens from 6 Muslim States ;

(9) In America , the Arabs speak in multiple voices , mostly attacking one another ;

(10) The only Arab country which is taught in grade schools is Ancient Egypt ;

(11) The Saudis try to influence America by throwing billions of dollars at American publicity companies . To no effect ;

(12) Major Arab capitals are yet to learn the art of inviting American agents of change to pan-Arab events ; why not invite Ilhan Omar , and / or Tlaib . Both are rising political stars in the Democratic party . That party is now " The Blue Wave " led by President Elect Biden ;

(13) The Egyptian film industry is no match for the Indian film industry in America ;

(14) The Arab Galias have brought to America their home conflicts , not their home culture ;

(15) Only ignorant Egyptians who lack the facility of writing pretend to be spokesman ;

(16) Their objectivel is self publicity not public service . Just examine their facebook pages ;

(17) The Egyptian Galiah is no more than a collection of warring tribes ;

(18) Only a handful of Egyptians know Egyptian history and geography ;

(19) The new Arab generation speaks little Arabic . Nor have they visited Egypt ;

(20) Just ask your friends : How many of them have visited the Dandour Temple at the American Metropolitan in Manhattan ? .

  In America , there is Neither an Arab unified Galiah , nor an Egyptian educated Galiah !!
