Qualifying For The Egyptian Senate by, yassin ayoti

 Some members of the Egyptian / American community have rushed into self-nomination for the upper chamber of the Egyptian Parliament . Unfortunately none of those self-absorbed persons qualify for that honor . They lack these basics : 

 (1) Knowledge of the meaning and practice of democracy ; (2) Awareness , let alone analysis , of the 2014 Egyptian Constitution ; (3) Absence of ability to initiate or even debate legislative measures ; (4) Lack of the way amendments are formulated  ; (5) Absence of historical appreciation  of the Egyptian Constitution of 1923 --the mother of all Egyptian constitutions ; (6) Ignorance of the roles of appointed Senators ; (7) Unfamiliarity with the arduous journey of legislation from submission to debate to enactment . 

  The central question , of course , is : Can they effectively write , amend , caucus , and compromise ? . And , do they know the history of modern Egypt , its changing with the times , and its future as a nuclear energy power ? . Do they understand the meaning of hydropolitics ?.

  They only possess a camera , a fake facebook , a fossilized mind , and a running mouth .

  They should keep their aspirations in check . They are only good at providing notable visitors from Cairo with transportation and free food  . The Prophet Muhammad has said : " May God Bless Those Who Recognize Their Own Worth " ( Rahema Allahu Mun Aarafa Qadra Nafsih ) .Their rightful place is not under the dome of Parliament . Cameras  and the sheeshah are no alternative to drafting legislation . 

May God save Egypt from these imposters ( daggaleen ). For they are only good at selling snake oil. ( END ).
