Egypt's Forward Leap ..by Dr. Yassin El-Ayouty, Esq.

These are facts , not propaganda !! . Last year , Bloomberg News predicted that Egypt was on the verge of a forward leap . They reasoned that Egypt has remained a zone of stability , though surrounded by chaotic neighbors . To its west , Libya is breaking apart , a development accelerated by Turkish intervention . Thus one now finds three Libyan sectors : Barqah , Tripoli , and Fazzan . Libyan oil is being stolen by all of them and sold on the black market across the Mediterranean . That is while a rump government sits powerless in Tripoli .

Then to Egypt's south we have the Sudan and Southern Sudan , with the killing continuing unabated in Darfur . And across Sinai , we have two Palestines : one in Ramallah ; and one in Gaza . So what did Egypt's leaders do ? . El-Sisi bought for Egypt from France two aircraft carriers . Placed one across from the Libyan coast , and the other at Bab El-Mandeb to protect the two Suez Canals and their industrial complexes . While Egypt keeps a watchful eye on the chaos at the Rafah crossing , it also welcomes German and Russian tourists to Sharm El-Sheikh . In the meantime , other developments are going forward : Building a speed train from Ain El-Sokhnah to Alexandria ( a trip of only two hours ) ; developing Al-Dabaa nuclear facility ; and marketing the huge natural gas fields of the western desert . Go , Egypt , Go !! .
